Ratchet and Clank Future: Quest For Booty Reviewed

I picked this game up the day it came out and beat it last night.  All in all, it's a good game.  However, I'm a bit conflicted about it.

The game costs $15 and give about 2-3 hours of gameplay.  Sadly, those 2-3 hours are it.  There is no multiplayed.  On top of that, the typical replayability of the series is missing, multiple playthroughs do not allow further weapon upgrades.

The story of the game follows Ratchet searching for a special artifact that is being held by pirates.  The artificat will allow him to figure outwhere Clank has been taken to.  The writing is top notch as always, as is the voice acting.  The graphics look slightly more polished than Tools of Destruction, which looked pretty amazing in it's own right.

The game play is interesting.  Fort he first half of the game, the focus is on pure platforming.  These elements are fantastic.  The second half loses this a bit and moves back to a combat focus.  Overall, the gameplay is just as much of a blast as always.

The real problem with this game comes from experience.  I recently also purchased Bionic Command: Rearmed.  BCR cost $5 less than Quest for Booty and has provided at least 4 times as much game play.  BCR offer multiplayer and rewards for multiple play throughs.

At the end of the day, Quest for Booty is for the fans.  If you don't already enjoy the series, you probably won't feel that you got enough bang for your buck.
